There are a number of ways in which I can assist you in achieving your breeding or sport goals going forward.

Sourcing broodmares
The importance of good mares, from proven ‘black-type’ damlines, is becoming increasingly evident. Such mares will greatly increase the chances of breeding your desired performers, in addition to increasing the marketability of future offspring.

Buying a mare is easy, however, sourcing a mare that has the potential to positively shape your breeding programme takes careful consideration. Through my trusted network in Ireland and mainland Europe, I have sourced well-related mares for several breeders to date, and I can assist you in your next broodmare acquisition too.

Sourcing or marketing young horses
I work with a large network of sport horse breeders, both in Ireland and mainland Europe, ensuring a high level of transparency of product and price for prospective purchasers.

If you are looking to strengthen your competition string, I will assist you in sourcing your next competition prospects, from foals to young horses under saddle. Similarly, if you are a breeder with an interesting young horse that you would like marketed, please feel free to get in touch.

Marketing & Social Media
Whether it be for a one-off promotion, an event, building a new website or if you would like your social media managed on an annual basis, I will assist you in professionalizing your marketing efforts to increase your exposure and overall effectiveness.

In order to ensure that you receive a fair return for your breeding products, it is important that you effectively showcase your horses in a professional manner.

Stallion Selection
Each breeding season it can be a daunting task selecting stallions for the mares in your breeding programme. There is a significant amount of ‘noise’ in the industry and a lack of clear, transparent information on stallions.

Based on the discipline you are breeding for, your desired point of sale and your mare’s pedigree, strengths and weaknesses, I will work with you to create a short list of suitable stallions to consider.

With all breeding decisions, it is important to keep thinking about what the sport will look like in ten years from now, as that is when the breeding decisions taken today will come to fruition.

Breeding Programme Consultation
You may be at a crossroads in your breeding endeavours and wish to get some independent feedback and guidance.

Together, we will make an objective assessment of your current breeding stock to ascertain if they are in line with your desired breeding goals, and the requirements of your chosen market or discipline.

The Breeder Hub

The Breeder Hub
Through the Knowledge Transfer (KT) programme, I worked with five breeder groups throughout Ireland. Each group comprised of a maximum of 18 breeders who operated within Ireland’s sport horse industry. The initial programme, which was run through the Department of Agriculture, has now ended and we await the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) budget to see if a new programme will be included in it.

In the meantime, I have continued to work with a core group of these participants, outside of the KT programme, under the banner of ‘The Breeder Hub’.

Industry Events

Over the past ten years, I have been involved in the running of several industry events. These have included The Sport Horse & Thoroughbred Stallion Show, Loose Jumping Event & Fences Selection (pictured), HSI’s International Marketing Symposium, several editions of the Waterford Sport Horse Breeders’ Performance Show and many more.

If you have an upcoming event, and would like to work together on it, please get in touch.
