The third edition of ‘The Breeders Select Foal Sale Ireland’ has drawn to a close. Today proved to be a huge success for the Mayo Roscommon Breeders’ Group and their auction team. The selection, promotion and selling of 70 breeder’s foals is a huge undertaking, but credit where credit is due - they have pulled it off.
The standard of foals, the calibre of damlines and the presentation of foals on the day has improved significantly since the first edition of this sale. I think that those who put in the effort were rewarded. Some of the unsold lots were making objectively fair prices and their owners chose not to part with them, so it doesn’t give the truest reflection of the day.
Today is a great success for the organising team, the participating breeders and the West of Ireland in particular. When you factor in the ongoing Covid-19 challenges and a rainy day, it’s all the more impressive of an achievement. We are all quick to criticise, so a huge well done to all involved today!
📸 CBI Lockdown (Ganesh Hero Z x Indoctro), bred by Aidan & Ray Carroll. The top lot of the sale at €10,500 & will be produced in the future by Damien Griffin - Lissyegan Stables.
