With the first competition of the FEI Jumping World Championships in Aachen about to get underway, I took a closer look at the breeding behind the 145 horses on today’s start list.

From the leading sires and damlines to the breeders represented by multiple horses, the performance of the dams and the age at which some of those mares were covered, there are some interesting stories behind this year’s field.
